Thank you to all pilots and volunteers who made our recent Young Eagles Rally a success.

EAA Chapter 227 actively supports the Young Eagles Program.  Members volunteer their aircraft, fuel, and time to give a new generation a chance to learn more about the possibilities that exist in the world of aviation.  The program hopes to provide young people the opportunity to gain a new perspective on their community and the world in which they live.  Free airplane rides are only part of the experience.  Participants will discover how airplanes work and how safety is the primary concern before each flight.

Young people between the ages of 8-17 are invited to participate.  They will each receive an official Young Eagles Certificate signed by the pilot.  Their name will be entered into the World's Largest Logbook which is on permanent display at the EAA AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh, WI and online at www.youngeagles.org.

Additional information is available by contacting Chapter 227 Young Eagles Coordinator Chris Roberts at chrisr@cfu.net or 319-277-8128.

Members and friends of EAA Chapter 227 are encouraged to collect aviation related "freebie" items for use in goodie bags to be used at the annual Young Eagle Rallies!

Chapter 227 has been active in the Young Eagles Program since it was launched by EAA in 1992. Our Chapter pilots have volunteered their time and aircraft to participate as Young Eagle Flight Leaders and have flown over 2000 young people.

EAA has flown over 1.4 million young people as of August 2008! As long as you're between the ages of 8 and 17, you can be an EAA Young Eagle just like that! Not only will you fly for free, you'll also receive an official Young Eagle certificate and your name will be entered in the World's Largest Logbook!
